Lucie Drdova Gallery is a Prague-based contemporary art gallery with a strong conceptual portfolio and a distinctive curatorial approach to open up dialogue between local artists and the international scene.

Aleksandra Vajd, Jimena Mendoza

For several years, Lucie Drdova Gallery has been active in the art capital of Brussels; in September, we will introduce our own exhibition space there!

In the past years, the gallery participated in one of the leading and oldest art fairs Art Brussels (2015, 2017, 2018) and the fair with a focus on drawing Art on Paper (2016) where we presented the most current young positions of the contemporary Czech scene. In collaboration with theorist and curator Václav Janoščík, we also held an exhibition of contemporary Czech and Slovak photography at the Summer of Photography biennial organized by the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels (2016).

LDG Brussels is located at Galerie Ravenstein in the historical city center in the vicinity of Mont Des Arts and the Palais des Beaux-Arts (BOZAR). The first exhibition is dedicated to Slovenian artist Aleksandra Vajd and Mexican artist Jimena Mendoza, both based in Prague, who will present their lastest collaborative works. The show is curated by Jana J. Haeckel. The new space and show will open on Wednesday, September 5 at 6 pm.

The time of the opening intentionally converges with the Brussels Gallery Weekend held on September 6 to 9. This gives the Czech gallery a unique chance to introduce itself in the context of the Brussels gallery scene.
