We are pleased to invite you to the new gallery space at Zborovská 49.
The first exhibition by Daniel Vlček continues our activities in Venice, Italy.
One year ago, at the Emily Harvey Foundation residency, Daniel created not only the experimental video documentary about the Venetian Lagoon which inspired the recent Confluence exhibition, but also a series of graphic works. The intimate collection of casein temperas on handmade paper mirrors his fascination with the water surface, reflections of light, as well as the historicality of the rich scenery of the city. He deliberately employed complementary colors. They merge with each other in the thin lines of brush drawing and the gradient of mixed colors. The unique works were born in the space of the cavana, a traditional boat shelter at Campo dei Miracoli. The Cavana exhibition also features other works by Daniel including original recordings evoking the everydayness of Venetians and the motif of rain.
We are looking forward to your visit by prior appointment from November 23 to January 15.
